Marvel introduces their AvX Vs. #1 comic, which will take a closer look at battles between individual Avengers and X-Men members. Also shipping is New Avengers #25 and Uncanny X-Men #11 – both AvX tie-in books.

For smaller press we have issue #2 of both New Deadwardians and Supercrooks, the Chew Volume 5 trade paperback, and Mass Effect Homeworlds #1.

DC Comics brings us Batman #8 – a prelude to the Night of the Owls crossover event, as well as Justice League #8.

Marvel is putting out their highly anticipated Issue #2 of Avengers vs. X-Men. Issues #0 and #1 have been flying off shelves! We also see the release of Wolverine and the X-Men #9, which is an AVX tie in book this month.

In terms of smaller press we have issue 2 of the superb Jonathan Hickman book “Manhattan Projects”, TMNT “Leonardo” microseries, and issue #96 of The Walking Dead!

Well – I don’t even know where to start this post. There are SO MANY good books coming out this week. First and foremost we have Saga #1. This is by Brian K. Vaughan (one of my favourite all-time writers – creator of Y the Last Man, Ex Machina, and The Runaways) and Canadian artist Fioa Staples. This is sure to be a blockbuster book, and from what I am told it is already sold out at the distributor level. Make sure you come by Stadium on Wednesday this week to pick it up!

In terms of smaller press we also have Thief of Theives #2 from Image, Saucer Country #1 from Vertigo, and TMNT Infestation #1 from IDW.

Big week for Marvel Comics – there’s the new Avengers Assemble ongoing series, Scarlet Spider #3, and the X-Men Season One original hardcover graphic novel.

DC Comics puts out a bunch of #7 issues such as Batman and Robin, Green Lantern, Batgirl, and Batwoman.

DC Comics presents their new logo this week on their line of comics. They haven’t met with much adoration from fans. But – they are releasing some amazing comics this week in the form of Detective Comics #7, Animal Man #7, Action Comics #7, and Swamp Thing #7! We also see the conclusion to the Huntress mini-series this week.

Marvel presents us with issue #1 of Age of Apocalypse – written by David Lapham with a Humberto Ramos Cover. We also have Ultimate Spider-Man #8, Uncanny X-Men #8, and everyone’s favourite – Tokidoki X Marvel keychains!!

Vertigo also goes a mini-relaunch of their own this month. You may want to check out The Fairest #1 – the latest offshoot from Fables. Bill Willingham writes and Phil Jimenez provides art with a beautiful Adam Hughes cover.

DC Comics has a couple of big titles shipping this week. First of all, Batman Beyond Unlimited launches with a brand new #1 issue, and will feature the print debut of Justice League Beyond!

Speaking of the Justice League – Geoff Johns and Jim Lee wrap up their first story arc in Justice League #6. The whole team is together in this issue fighting against Darkseid!

Marvel’s got Amazing Spider-Man #680, which has the creative team of Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos placing Spidey in space! For the Magic fans out there, we have Magic: The Gathering #2 which comes with a free “Faithless Looting” card which is legal for tournament play!

DC Comics’ big book this week is War of the Green Lanterns Aftermath #2 – this will lead directly into Green Lantern #1 launching in September. Detective Comics #881 is also released tomorrow, and DC’s Retroactive books continue as they take a look at Green Lantern, The Justice League, and Superman in the 1980′s.

We’ve also got the continuation of Jonathan Hickman’s Red Wing, and some Street Fighter Heroclix!

Here’s what’s arriving at Stadium Comics on Wednesday, July 20th 2011. DC is set to go Retroactive as they take a look at Batman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman in the 1970′s. We also see the first of two issues covering the War of the Green Lanterns Aftermath. Marvel re-launches Daredevil with a new number one in hopes of giving that character a boost in popularity. Marcos Martin and Paolo Rivera are handling the artwork, so I am intrigued. Marvel will be supporting it with *surprise!* a blank cover variant.

We’ve also got the continuation of the mourning of Peter Parker in Ultimate Comics Fallout #2, Uncanny X-Men #541, and the Walking Dead #87. It also looks like we’re getting some pretty sweet T-shirts!
